Committee Descriptions
AFFILIATE – Responsible for Affiliates programs to include Fun Night/RPAC activity.
BUDGET/FINANCE – Working with the Treasurer & CEO to develop a balanced budget & oversee the financial status of the Association.
BYLAWS – Review and update the Bylaws as necessary.
COMMUNICATIONS/PR – Promotes public awareness of the Association and its activities; coordinates news and press release information and develops programs which will educate the public about the term REALTOR®, including community awareness programs.
EDUCATION – Promotes the need for real estate education; implements local educational objectives & programs; promotes and provides support for State and National Association educational objectives and programs.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY – Provides sponsorship and leadership in the implementation of the Fair Housing laws as directed by the State and National Associations and HUD.
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS/RPAC – Stimulates political awareness among the members; analyzes and responds to local, state and national legislative and regulatory issues; coordinates legislative objectives of the State & National Associations. Is responsible for coordinating campaign efforts in soliciting funds from members for the purpose of supporting political candidates on the local, state & national levels. Monitors legislative issues affecting the real estate industry and property ownership.
HONOR SOCIETY – Reviews Honor Society applications and provides the recipients with certificates and seals.
MEMBERSHIP – Encourages and solicits new REALTOR® and Affiliate members; promotes recognition of outstanding member contributions; encourages membership participation in Association programs; processes membership applications for action by the Board of Directors; facilitates new member orientations.
MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE ADVISORY – Oversees the general operation of the Multiple Listing Service. Meets monthly to review the financial status and normal functions of the service. Provides recommendations to the directors when necessary.
NOMINATION/ELECTION – Reviews applications from interested members and selects a slate of directors/officers that will be elected at the annual meeting. Assists with the election process at the annual meeting.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS – Addressing complaints between REALTORS®, customers and clients, as they occur and to act in the capacity of an arbitration and ethics panel in settling the disputes as forwarded from the Review Committee (or a failed mediation). Provides inform-ation at orientation and membership meetings regarding the National Association’s Code of Ethics mandated education. The Review Committee and Mediators are included as part of the Professional Standards process.
PROGRAM – Selects and provides programs for the general membership meetings, to include finding a location for such meetings. Introduces the speakers at such events.
AWARDS LUNCHEON – Reviews applications and selects the REALTOR® of the Year/Affiliate of the Year & Distinguished Service awards. Plans and coordinates the annual awards luncheon.
SOCIAL FUNCTIONS – In charge of dates, facilities, food and all other arrangements as pertains to the Annual Dinner Dance and Golf Outing.
SUNSHINE – Provides encouragement to members that have medical or bereavement situations, through cards or gifts of expressions from the membership.
